What: 2nd Annual Pikes Peak Chautauqua

We will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Pikes Peak or Bust Gold Rush. Come mingle
with our colorful cast of characters. This is a great chance for photo opportunities for the entire family.
Highlights of the Chautauqua
•Meet an old time gold miner and his miniature donkey "Guido."
•'Bloomer Girl' Julia Archibald Holmes, the first recorded woman to 
summit the peak in 1858.
•A wonderful hands-on display of Zebulon M. Pike's pack (reproduction) 
from his famous 1806 southwest expedition.
•Displays of mammals and their tracks.
•Puppetry and story telling by ranger staff.
•Ute indian drummers for a drum circle.
•Celinda Kaylen, from The Pikes Peak Museum will do a talk on
      "Ute's Legend of Bigfoot" at 11:00 am.
•Guest appearance by Smokey.
